The 4th grade teacher stood before her class. As she lowered the needle to a phonograph record, she told the students, “Try to sing just like the record, just like Elvis Presley.”

12 year old Scott Norton listened carefully as The King belted out one of his smash hits. Captivated by Presley’s powerful voice, Scott was inspired, and took his teacher’s request seriously.

After class, he went home to “practice” in front of his bedroom’s mirror. Day after day, he worked on his voice, his singing, his enunciation, until he had nearly perfected every nuance, every voice inflection, and every style point his ear had heard on that Elvis record. From that time on, Scott knew he could sing just like Elvis, and began an adventure that continues to this day.

Scott sang in many large venues, and with many Elvis-connected artists such as Ronnie McDowell, Gordon Stoker, and Patti Parry. He even sang with country music legend George Jones, and performed with former Elvis band member D.J. Fontana.

In 2009, Scott won the top honors at the Ultimate Elvis Competition in Tampa, FL.

Today, Scott is one of the foremost Elvis Tribute Artists working in North America. His powerful voice is so eerily close to that of The King’s, that when “E on the Strip” audiences simply close their eyes, and listen, they’re convinced they’re hearing Presley himself.
